GREENSPEED X5

The X-Series of trikes is based on the GT3 platform of folding, but made to be a sportier/faster machine. The fold is the same as the GT3 eg. there is a hinge in the middle of the frame and the seat attaches via a single bolt and two elastomer bushes that locate on stainless steel pins. The whole trike folds down in minutes to fit into a regular trunk.

You may notice that the front end is a little different to the rest of our range, the wheels have 5 degrees of negative camber and we have added some extra caster for better feedback through the handlebars and some more "self centering" effect. The cambered front end also makes the tires hook up to the asphalt like never before and helps wear the tires more evenly

The seat has been raked back from 40 degrees to 30 degrees, just like the GTS, which makes carving through the breeze even easier, and also aids in comfort for extended sessions in the saddle.

The X5, like the GT5, also features four pot hydraulic disc brakes from Alligator brakes, these have all the power and modulation you'll ever need.

GREENSPEED GT3

For some time people have been telling us that they would buy a trike if we made a cheaper one! And other people have told us they would buy a trike if it was easier to transport. Plus we have seen an increase in the number of people wanting to use trikes for occasional recreational riding, rather than long distance touring and everyday commuting for which the GTR and GTO were designed. So how do we satisfy this demand and introduce more people to the benefits of riding a trike? Now it seems that many people like to drive to their favourite riding trail, unload their bike from their car, and then ride in peace and quiet away from the traffic. Thus it seems that the trike should be able to fit into the boot (trunk) of a car. So we used 16" wheels as we have done on the GTC and GTX to reduce the whole size ofthe trike. Plus people would not really want to spend 1/4 hour assembling a trike with the S&S couplings each time they went for a ride, thus we made the trike so could be FOLDED in 30 seconds. Next, how do we reduce the cost?? Well a number of people told us they did not use all the 72 or 83 gears we normally fit for loaded touring in mountainous country, and this number of gear are not needed for recreational riding on Rail Trails, so we decided to fit 'only' 27 gears. As 80 % of riders fit our standard size frame, we elected to extend the size of the standard frame, and just make one frame size, at least for this year. We then examined the frame colours that people choose, and found that red and blue were the most popular, so we decided on offering just those two colours.

GREENSPEED GT5

The GT5 is an upgraded GT3. Where the GT3 uses sealed drum brakes, the GT5 uses four piston, hydraulic Gator disc brakes. The front hubs have been specifically made for trike use for Greenspeed under our GS branding. The cranks and derailleurs have been upgraded to Shimano 105. This trike also features the new Scorcher tyres, another Greenspeed product.
